Unite Us, a closed-loop referral service for coordinating care across organizations, had recently acquired competitor NowPow. With the long-term goal of moving all users onto one super set platform, both services’ current users needed to be accommodated. An auditing and fundamental rework of the Unite Us primary referral UX was needed.
A deep analysis of the user experience and services of both platforms was necessary.

Working closely with the Unite Us UX team and other stakeholders, I designed a singular flow that would allow the user to access all functionality needed at the time in which it was needed, introducing save and return functionality to reduce frustration, and eliminating needless data entry by easily pulling in existing information from other data sources. This user flow would become the blueprint for the new Unite Us core platform experience.
Utilizing our user flow blueprint as a guide, I designed a feature-comprehensive Unite Us branded mid-fidelity prototype. With the concept of having access to needed functionality at any time, clear and immediately understandable user interface design was key. Consideration of screen real estate and the function and experience of UI elements was imperative.
The prototype was user tested by the Unite Us UX team against several core personas for both the Unite Us and NowPow platforms. Users were excited by the revamp of the platform with its new features and more easily used UI. Our Unite Us client was extremely satisfied with the work as it set them up very well to continue to iterate using the platform prototype.
